QazCloud at VK Cloud Nomad Fest: The Future of Data Lies in the Cloud and Energy

At the VK Cloud Nomad Fest technology festival, QazCloud CEO Kassym Yesergepov delivered an overview of the key stages in the development of IT infrastructure — from local racks and the first data centers to the modern cloud and hybrid approach. Special attention was given to the growing influence of artificial intelligence and the rapid increase in infrastructure load.

Kassym Yessergepov:

We are no longer just IT-dependent — we are becoming energy-dependent. The real competition now is for energy.

He emphasized that AI is changing not only the approach to working with data, but also the requirements for data centers. Energy consumption, scalability, and risk resilience are now taking center stage. In the future, we can expect a close convergence between cloud and energy companies, as is already happening among global industry leaders.

As part of the festival, a panel session titled “From Idea to Product” was also held, where experts discussed modern IT architecture, cybersecurity challenges, and the role of infrastructure in digital transformation. Participants highlighted the importance of flexibility, local adaptation, and interaction between business and technology.

VK Cloud Nomad Fest confirmed its status as a key platform for discussing the future of IT and shaping Kazakhstan’s digital ecosystem.
