Why Are Businesses Still Afraid of the Cloud?

The QazCloud platform runs over 3,200 virtual servers with 3.3 PB of backup storage and geo-redundancy. Yet many companies continue relying on outdated solutions. Even with high reliability, the move to the cloud still seems complex and intimidating.

Why is that?

This question became a key focus for our team.

Digitalization Without a Strategy

Rapid digitalization in Kazakhstan often happened without a systematic approach, leading to:

• fragmented information systems,
• lost documentation,
• disrupted continuity,
• growing technical debt.
• This has resulted in a complex and unstable IT environment.

Top Fears About Migration

Cloud migration is a managed change — and like any change, it brings concerns.

IT Risks:

• loss of access,
• lack of understanding of architecture,
• incompatibilities,
• team overload.

Business Risks:

• downtime,
• staff adaptation,
• risk of data loss.
• These can all be managed — with the right methodology.

Our Migration Methodology

We’ve developed a clear approach based on insights from real-world projects. Key stages include:

1. Inventory
2. A thorough analysis of current IT infrastructure, systems, and data to be migrated. No migration plan can succeed without this.
3. Tailored Plan
4. We consider the unique characteristics of the business, system interdependencies, service criticality, schedules, and limitations.
5. Expert Team
6. Migration requires skilled professionals who can work with complex and large-scale IT environments.
7. Technology:
8. We use proven solutions:

• Veeam Cloud Connect — for fast, secure backup transfers to the cloud.
• VMware Cloud Availability — for seamless and secure migration of virtual machines.

Migration is a strategic move.

We understand clients’ fears and know how to address them. With a proven methodology and modern tools, the process becomes reliable and predictable.
